King’s Trust Explore Programme

The Explore programme is a 5 week outdoor personal development programme, which helps young people aged 16 to 25 years old with their personal development skills and those all important soft skills which employers are looking for!
Our session run from 9.45am to 3.00pm. Week One is Monday to Friday, week’s two to five is Tuesday to Friday.
In the first 5 days young people will do the following:
- Monday- Crocky Trails, working on their teamwork skills and building positive relationships
- Tuesday- Indoor Climbing- This will help young people work on their goal setting, comfort zones and confidence.
- Wednesday- Low level walk- This will continue with the work of building positive relationships and we will start to look at managing our feelings.
- Thursday- Canoeing- This will be a team building day.
- Friday- Self-reflection day in Wepre Park (Wales)
After week one, we will then move on to topics such as world of work days, employability, independent living, healthy lifestyles, cooking, art, stereo typing, public speaking, team work, sports ect., However, all of our activities no matter the topic are made fun and engaging for young people.
Lunch is provided and travel costs are included for those that need it. Furthermore, we will also cover the costs for all activities and kit for the activities will be provided.
Young people will leave the course with key stills that employers look for, entry level 3 in personal development, first aid training, a CV and lots of experience and examples to add to their CV’s or talk about in an interview.
After the programme, we then offer up to 12 months one-to-one follow on support to, help young people move on to something else. This can be in the Kings Trust or with another company however, we will support them until they have something to move on too.
