Intermediate
As a member of the Staplands team, you will explore the local environment through taking the children out into the local community. This offers endless learning opportunities and fun for the children!
As an apprentice at Staplands Nursery, your responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of an experienced Early Years team
- Assisting in planning daily activities for children
- Assisting in feeding and changing children
- Ensure all children are safe and secure within the Nursery
- Liaise with parents whilst dropping off and collecting children
- Observe and support children’s development
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Straplands day nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
- Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
- Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
- This will be delivered through Staplands Day Nurseries’ dedicated training provider, Realise
Training schedule has yet to be agreed upon, further details will be made available at a later date.
- To gain full-time employment within the setting, to go on to study for a higher level Early Years qualification

Staplands Nursery is situated in the ground floor of a Victorian building in Thomas Lane, Broadgreen. It opens daily 8am - 6pm. They provide care for children aged 0-5 years. Its a small nursery that caters for 22 children each day, are very much a home from home setting and they pride themselves on being a close knit nursery, where all staff know all the children and parents.
