National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is back from 9th to 15th February 2026! A celebration of apprenticeships, it’s a chance for the entire apprenticeship community—including employers, training providers, apprentices, and educators—to showcase the incredible benefits apprenticeships bring to organisations, individuals, and communities.

For Liverpool City Region employers, this is an exciting opportunity to step into the limelight to show how you use apprenticeships to recruit and develop staff and address your organisation’s skills needs. You can also use the week to promote any apprenticeship vacancies you have, and get noticed by school pupils making their choices for when they leave school in June 2026.

1. Mark your calendars

NAW 2026 is set for 9th-15th February 2026. Start thinking about how your organisation can get involved. Will you perhaps use the week to promote apprenticeship vacancies or encourage staff to enrol on an apprenticeship? Or highlight the success and achievements of your current apprentices with a view to getting featured in the media?

2. Check out the previous year’s resources

Before September, when the Department for Education (DfE) releases the official NAW 2026 Toolkit, take a look at the free resources on the Amazing Apprenticeships website. These include past guides, activity ideas, and promotional materials to help you start planning. (Explore resources here

3. Watch the planning webinar

The Employers & Stakeholders NAW 2026 Planning Webinar was held on Monday, 30th June 2025, at 13:00; however, a recording is available. It provides expert guidance on planning your activities and making the most of NAW

4. Add any events to the NAW calendar

Organising a company event? Maybe a celebratory lunch with your apprentices, or an apprenticeship open day for staff to find out what’s involved. Be sure to feature it on the National NAW 2026 Events Calendar to gain exposure and show your support. Also, let LCR Be More know your plans for the chance to be featured in a special web feature!

Get inspired by past activities that have other companies have undertaken during the week. Here are some ideas to consider:

  • Get your apprentices to take over your social media platforms for the week, linking in with the National Apprenticeship Week daily themes.
  • Run an in-house lunchtime event to encourage more of your staff to consider doing apprenticeships to progress within the company.
  • If you use an apprenticeship provider, ask them to come in and hold apprenticeship “surgeries” to talk to staff about the benefits and answer any questions.
  • Reach out to local and industry media outlets that will be running special features for the week and are looking for relevant content and apprentices to interview.

Calling all apprenticeship providers in Liverpool City Region! Share your plans for NAW 2026 with LCR Be More. We’re excited to showcase what’s happening throughout the region in a special NAW 2026 feature closer to the time.

NAW 2026 is your organisation’s chance to celebrate apprenticeships and inspire the workforce of tomorrow. Start preparing now by exploring resources, adding any planned events to the calendar, and reaching out to LCR Be More to be featured in our NAW2026 special!
