A new route to upskill your workforce and boost your business

Be More is offering FREE tailored support and guidance to businesses across throughout the Liverpool City Region.

With a significant skills shortage across the Liverpool City Region, it’s never been more important to ensure that people have access to learning and development opportunities to upskill themselves and contribute to the economic prosperity of the region.

But this isn’t just about supporting those out of work or education. Many people currently in employment are lacking the necessary skills to take the next step in their career.

Be More, an innovative service devised and launched by Mayor Steve Rotheram and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, is now helping to bridge this skills gap, providing employers with tailored support, guidance and access to funding to help boost their business and develop their workforce.

Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, said: “”For too long, too many people in our region have been held back from fulfilling their potential, not by a lack of ambition, but by a lack of opportunity.

“Be More is helping to put that right by creating a single front door that opens up a world of new training, apprenticeships, and career advice for local people. The needs of our communities have been central to the development of the service, which was designed in partnership with them to remove the barriers that have previously stood in the way of people reaching new opportunities, making sure they are accessible for everyone.

“The fact that we’ve already helped thousands of people in our area to access apprenticeships is testament to the difference we’re making. But I want to build on that success. The next stage is about making sure that local people have the skills they need to succeed, and can be easily matched with ambitious local businesses that want to grow.

“This is a chance for employers of all sizes to work with us, to identify and plug the skills gaps that our economy is going to rely heavily on in the future, and to give local people the opportunity to get on in life. I want to send a clear message to people in our region: no matter where you are in your career journey, Be More is there to help you take the next step.”

How is Be More supporting businesses?

Finding the time to plan training is never easy, especially when you have a business to run.

Even when you do find the time, finding the training – and the money to pay for it – is often just as difficult.

The service offers businesses, large or small, access to a unique Skills Brokerage Service, which connects the dots between local businesses and training providers, making the most of funding available to deliver the skills you need.

This bespoke service connects businesses with a Skills Broker, who will take the time to get to know your business and understand its current skills gaps and future skills needs.

Through researching and identifying available funding streams, Skills Brokers work with employers to develop a custom-made plan to ensure that businesses and their employees have the resources in place to learn, develop and thrive.

What type of training can employers access through the LCR Skills Brokerage Service?

Be More is offering businesses up to 70% of funding towards the cost of training required to upskill employees. And it’s even offering employers a range of fully funded courses through its Priority Training Fund.

These fully funded courses include Leadership and Management, Hospitality Management, Basic and Advanced IT Skills, and Mental Health in the Workplace, with many more courses available to eligible businesses.

How can you access LCR Be More’s services to boost your business?

If you’re thinking about upskilling your existing team through learning and development opportunities, you can visit the Be More website to register your interest and get put in touch with the Skills Brokerage Service.

You can also explore the range of courses available through the Priority Training Fund and watch case studies featuring employers in the Liverpool City Region who have accessed Be More’s support.

Boost your business and upskill your team with LCR Be More.

The project is part-funded by the European Social Fund & LCR Strategic Investment Fund and provides local businesses with a Skills Brokerage Service offering information & guidance around funded training opportunities, apprenticeships, levy transfer, traineeships and more.
