It’s National Apprenticeship Week, and this year there’s a very real reason to pay attention. A snapshot of apprenticeship vacancies on the LCR Be More website, taken on 6 February 2026, shows a huge rise in opportunities across the Liverpool City Region, with 133 live apprenticeship vacancies currently available.
That represents an increase of almost 100% compared with the same point last year, highlighting just how much employers value apprenticeships as a tool for recruitment and skills development in their businesses.

Where are the opportunities?
Engineering and manufacturing is currently the strongest area for apprenticeship vacancies in the Liverpool City Region, with 30 live roles available. Close behind is education and early years, with 26 vacancies, and business and administration, offering 24 opportunities for people looking to develop office-based, organisational and professional skills.
Beyond these leading sectors, there are 53 additional apprenticeship vacancies spread across a wide range of industries. These include health and science, construction and the built environment, sales, marketing and procurement, digital, legal, finance and accounting, catering and hospitality, protective services, creative and design, agriculture, environment and animal care, and transport and logistics.
