To undertake a Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship at St Helens College whilst gaining practical experience within the Engineering and Maintenance team. The apprentice will develop the knowledge and skills required to support the maintenance of manufacturing equipment and site facilities.

Advanced

  • Assist with planned preventative and reactive maintenance under the supervision of experienced engineers.

  • Develop knowledge and practical skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Assist with fault finding and repair of manufacturing equipment

  • Support the maintenance of engineering tools, equipment, spares and consumables.

  • Assist with Engineering Stock Control, including regular stock audits.

  • Ensure engineering tools are maintained, correctly stored and kept clean and in good condition.

  • Assist with the management and replenishment of engineering consumables, ensuring they are stored safely and appropriately.

  • Maintain clean and organised engineering areas in line with 5S standards.

  • Assist with site facilities maintenance.

  • Complete maintenance records and relevant documentation

  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.

  • Support continuous improvement activities.

  • Attend St Helens College and complete all required apprenticeship training, coursework and assessments.

  • Undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role and level of training

  • Weekly day release with St Helens College
  • Functional skills Maths and English (if applicable)
  • Progression to Maintenance Engineer
