The Racial Justice Team are seeking someone to conduct a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) research project across their 119 diocesan schools.
They are looking for a researcher to collect the anonymised protected characteristic data from school populations, within the framework of the privacy policy and analyse this data to provide a clear understanding of the present ethnic diversity in the workforce compared with pupil populations. The researcher will also collect qualitative data from school staff with a focus on the impact of discrimination on leadership progression.
This research project is funded on a fixed fee basis and must be completed within 6months of the start date.
Duties and key responsibilities:
- Conduct mixed method research with schools in our network, analysing qualitative and quantitative data to uncover actionable insights
- Collaboratively develop the research methodology and framework for delivery
- Collecting and analysing data including the interpretation of findings
- Producing reports and presentations to stakeholders
- Ensure the responsible and ethical conduct of the research, including participant confidentiality.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or current graduate status; recent graduates or students with strong critical thinking and writing skills are welcome to apply.
- Backgrounds in mixed methodology research, social policy, humanities, or similar fields are a strong fit, but not required.
Knowledge and skills:
- Quantitative and qualitative research skills for undertaking tasks such as collating information from existing datasets, interviewing and survey design
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to think logically and creatively
- Good verbal and written communication skills, to write reports and present findings
- Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining relationships
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
- Confidence in using Microsoft Office software
- Accuracy and attention to detail for handling data and reporting research findings
Additional requirements:
The successful candidate will be required to complete the company’s induction process including health and safety, safeguarding policies and data protection. If required, a DBS check will be arranged for you.
