Liverpool City Region logistics training provider TRS has been shortlisted for the prestigious AAC Transport & Logistics Apprenticeship Provider 2024 Award.

It is one of two contenders for the accolade. The FE Week and AELP AAC Apprenticeship Awards are a celebration of excellence in apprenticeship delivery in the UK.

TRS delivers a range of logistics apprenticeships nationally but with its head office firmly established in St Helens, it is a proud home-grown Liverpool City Region provider. Rated excellent by apprenticeship employers, TRS operates from four training centres nationwide. It delivers logistics apprenticeship standards alongside Skills Bootcamps and Sector Based Work Academy Programmes. Its apprenticeship offer includes LGV Driver, Urban Driver, Transport and Warehouse Operations Supervisor, Express Delivery Operative and Supply Chain Warehouse Operative.

For us, it is a recognition of our unwavering dedication to supporting skills development for the nation’s logistics sector.

To date, TRS has trained 1119 apprentices nationally, at 467 different employer locations, on behalf of 223 employers, (102 SMEs and 121 apprenticeship levy-payers). Their clients include many high-profile national companies such as John Lewis, Next, Asda, Nagel Langdon, B&M and Ceva Logistics.

Beyond these accomplishments, TRS takes immense pride in the strategic strides they have made in the apprenticeship arena. For example, they have used apprenticeships as a tool to increase female representation in logistics. Besides this, they paved the way for the use of the LGV apprenticeship to address the UK’s truck driver shortage.

TRS collaborates closely with employers, apprenticeship trailblazers and logistics trade associations to propel the sector forward. As a result, it has played a significant role in securing increases in funding for logistics apprenticeship standards for the benefit of all.

Kevin Birch, managing director says

“We are delighted that judges have shortlisted TRS for the AAC Transport & Logistics Apprenticeship award. For us, it is a recognition of our unwavering dedication to supporting skills development for the nation’s logistics sector. Not only that, it is a testament to the accomplishments of our apprentices and the vision of our employer clients.

“TRS is very proud to have firm roots in the Liverpool City Region and to be helping fortify its position as a thriving hub for transport and logistics.”
