St Helens Chamber has a long and successful track record in delivering training to people across the Liverpool City Region.

From their offices in St Helens and Liverpool City Centre, they now deliver Apprenticeship training to over 650 people in businesses of all sizes and in all sectors.

John Westhead, Director of Training Services at St Helens Chamber, explains: “St Helens Chamber has been steadily growing our training offer across the Liverpool City Region over the last two years. We are hearing that there are gaps in training provision in some areas, and we want to ensure that everyone is aware of our offer and that we can deliver right across the City Region.

“Our approach to Apprenticeships has a proven track record of success, and we are very keen to offer this to more people across the city region. We are rated ‘good’ by Ofsted and outstanding for Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare and our achievement rate is 78.2%, one of the highest in the region.”

“Where available we are offering the new Apprenticeship Standards, and qualifications are available from level 2 through to level 5.”

Apprenticeships are a fantastic way for people at the start of their careers to get into work and are also available for people of any age, in employment, who may want to gain new skills and qualifications to support their career development.

In addition, St Helens Chamber offers a range of Free Short Courses for adults aged 19+, such as Health & Social Care, Childcare, CV Writing & Interview Skills and a range of IT courses. All courses are free of charge and designed to help people get a job if they are unemployed or facing redundancy, progress in their existing career, build their confidence or even start their own business.

Their Business start-up course is perfect for anyone in the early stages of starting a business, delivering the essential skills needed to start a business, including writing a business plan, how to market your business and how to manage money in business.

John Westhead adds: “We are keen to work with partners and referral agencies across the Liverpool City Region who may have identified gaps in the training provision available to local businesses and people.”
