What jobs need green skills? Who do they benefit? And why is everyone talking about them?

“Green skills are the knowledge, abilities, values and attitudes needed to live in, develop and support a sustainable and resource-efficient society.” – United Nations.

The United Kingdom has committed to no longer adding to the total amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere by 2050 – the foundation of their net zero strategy.

More urgently, all EU countries have set a target of reducing energy consumption by over 11% before 2030.

As part of this plan, there is a demand for skills involved with the design, construction and technology.

Managers will also need upskilling to support these new, green activities.

That means you could be:

  • A tradesperson,
  • An engineer,
  • Working in construction or maintenance,
  • Working in property management,
  • Working in social housing,
  • A project manager.

The sooner the better. Jobs are already asking for green skills as a must on job descriptions!

The Learning Foundry are delivering FREE Skills Bootcamps to give you key skills like taking EPC readings, giving retrofit advice and MORE!
