Apprenticeship summary
Are you due to leave school this year aged 16 – 18 and are you looking to take your first steps into barbering? A barbering apprenticeship is the best way to start your training and earn whilst you learn, becoming a fully qualified barber upon completion.

Intermediate
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- Assisting senior team members to deliver salon services
- Engaging positively with clients and promoting a positive image of yourself and the salo
- Greeting and gowning clients in readiness for their appointment
- Preparing equipment and products for each appointment
- Carrying out shampooing, conditioning treatments, removing colours and any other tasks deemed suitable under supervision#
- Answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries and making appointments with team members’ support
- Processing client payments with team member support
- Making and serving refreshments for the clients
- Promoting our salon services and products
- Ensuring that the salon is clean and tidy at the end of every shift
- Commitment to training by attending all training sessions, courses, assessments and reviews
- Attending staff meetings
You will train one full day a week at college and work 4 days at our buzzing City Centre salon.
Barbering professional L2 Apprenticeship Standard
There will be opportunities for progression and a permanent position subject to performance.
