Apprenticeship summary
You will be trained, coached, and mentored to carry out on-site operations and maintenance support for a range of industrial utility equipment, including combined heat and power, steam boilers, pumps and motors, water treatment, filtration systems, chemical dosing, air compressors, refrigeration plant, and electrical systems.

Advanced
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on steam boilers and utility plants, compressed air systems, cooling systems, pumps and motors.
- Assist with routine steam boiler operational tasks to comply with legislation and company procedures.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities with the ability to multi-skill where possible, with a proven trade bias.
- Carry out fault diagnosis on electrical LV control and power circuits.
- Regular monitoring, supervision and interaction of key subcontractors.
Apprentice will be based at The Engineering College full time for the first year, then move on to site to continue their apprenticeship.
During this programme, we’ll help you develop your practical and behavioural skills and support you in gaining the technical and professional knowledge required for you to succeed in your career.
With many of our colleagues starting as apprentices, you’ll receive full support and guidance from everyone throughout.
By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have received industry-standard training and attained qualifications that will enable you to progress and reach your full potential.
