An exciting opportunity has arisen at Liverpool City Council; the Planning team are looking to recruit 4 Town Planner Degree Apprentices. This is a 5 year apprenticeship. Degree

  • Assist in the preparation & review, implementation, and monitoring of the Liverpool Local Plan
  • Provide support to senior officers in preparation and review of the statutory development plan and other planning policies, including public consultation, Examination in Public, research, data collection, survey and analysis
  • Assist in undertaking key survey and analysis work to inform monitoring work including the preparation of the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment, and Authority Monitoring Report

There are two entry points for this apprenticeship: year 1 for those with A levels or who need further support, and year 3 for postgraduate level employees with an undergraduate degree.

You will study at Sheffield Hallam University and you will undertake study the Chartered Town Planner (Degree) Standard, which includes the following:

  • Environmental planning
  • Urban design and development
  • Planning for housing
  • Historic environment
  • Transport and infrastructure
  • Economic development
  • Planning for health
