Students will be able to explore their future careers options – sign your school up today!

STEM Learning is running a free online student mentoring programme in Autumn Term 2024.

The programme is funded by GSK and is being run in partnership with The Brightside Trust. It will start on 7th October and aims to support disadvantaged students, aged 13-19.

It will allow students to explore their future career opportunities with trained and experienced STEM professionals.

If you are a teacher based in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside or Manchester, you can express an interest in getting students from your school involved HERE. All About STEM will then be in touch with further information.

All About STEM is requesting that schools express their interest now if they wish to be involved as it is a popular programme. The deadline for student recruitment is 1st October.

Students must:

  • Be aged 13-19
  • Attend a school or college in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside or Manchester.

In addition to this, they must also meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Entitled to free school meals, either now or at least any time in the last six years
  • Live, or have lived, in local authority care
  • From low-income families or living in poverty
  • Excluded or at risk of exclusion
  • Affected by violence (at risk or involved in)
  • Associated with gangs or impacted by exploitation
  • Impacted by domestic violence or abuse
  • Young refugees or asylum seekers
  • Have a social worker
  • Have mental health concerns
  • Affected by homelessness
  • Have special educational needs and/or disability (SEND)
  • Will be the first in their immediate family to participate in higher education (not including any older siblings)
